MICHIGAN RECREATIONAL PARCEL FOR SALE! "Blueberry Fields Forever" is an 80 +/-Acre parcel located in west-central Baraga County in Michigan's UpperPeninsula. The northern border of the property is adjacent to hundreds of acres of CFA Lands. Here you can enjoy walk-in access for hunting, trapping, and fishing. Bear, Deer, Ruffed Grouse, and Small Game abound here. The remaining three sides of the property are adjacent to Michigan Tech lands. The Baraga Plains Wildlife Area is in the immediate area, and it is part of 142,900 acres of State owned land. This is an area of heavy lake effect snowfall from Lake Superior. The management unit supervises a 988 mile snowmobile trail network. Access to Trail No. 15, the Clowry-Nestoria Multi-Use State Trail is less than a half mile to the east. All of this system is groomed and maintained under eight grants to local snowmobile clubs or chambers of commerce. There is one ORV trail on the Baraga Plains about a mile away, and several ORV routes on railroad grades nearby. There is a 5,000 acre area of jack pine near this parcel, in the Baraga Plains. Jack pine clear cuts and subsequent regeneration have resulted in large areas of young jack pine. These are attractive to Kirtland warblers, and they have frequently nested here. This area is also a major Fly-Way for migrating geese and ducks. The scenic Ogemaw Falls is a mile away. Two miles to the east is the historic Alberta Village. It was founded in 1936 by Henry Ford - At that time wood was used extensively in automobiles, and Ford declared the banks of the Plumbago Creek to be an ideal spot for a sawmill. Ford named his sawmill town "Alberta" after the daughter of one of his executives in the area. In 1954, Ford Motor Company donated the town of Alberta and 1,700 acres of surrounding land to the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science at Michigan Technological University. Alberta's buildings today are used as a museum, and support research and teaching programs for forestry and ecology majors, and are used by numerous universities from around the United States for forestry education. Three miles south-west of the property is 118-Acre Big Lake. This lake is known for Largemouth bass, Muskies, Northern pike, and Perch. The property being offered for sale is covered with Blueberry bushes! Improvements on the property include a newer 46x56 pole building and a drilled well. This building could be used for storage, or finished into a large Cabin. A private generator has been used for power here.
